Determination of common cations by IC methods in Baghdad was carried out in this investigation. The optimum values of the instrumental parameters were reached best in relative standard deviation (RSD), correlation coefficient (r2) and method detection limits (MDLs) and other parameters to approving the precision and accuracy of this method. Both peak height (PH) and peak area (PA) were used for the evaluation of the IC signals. All standards and samples have been prepared by ultra pure water. Generally the peaks for cations were clearly, good resolution and there are no any interaction between its. We recorded the total time for cation analyses was about 15.5 mins. The elution of cations follows the order: Li+, Na+, NH4+, K+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ that because for cation separation the cation-exchange resin is usually a sulfonic acid group.
